Chao Piñeyro

Updated: Oct 11, 2022

Well, as for most missionaries, transfers came around. I am leaving the best area in the mission to the city of Florencia Varela. I am actually really excited to get started over there.

I am more than content with how everything turned out in Piñeyro. In the last six weeks we've had 6 baptisms, and we have 5 more planned in the next 3 weeks. I am in awe at our investigators and the changes they are willing to make to live the gospel. People are getting married, giving up drugs, and putting the Lord before themselves. Repentance is powerful.

Elder Mataalii is staying and training a new missionary. I know they will do wonderfully, my new companion is from Chile, but I have not met him yet. Tonight I will. I just sure hope this kids ready to work. If not we're gonna have to talk haha.

The women I baptized yesterday had worked with the missionaries for years with no progress. Then on Tuesday we decided to "bajar la caña" which means put our foot down. We testified the she needed to live the gospel of Jesus Christ to have the happiness she wants now and in the future. After it all, she decided to be baptized in 5 days haha. It was a rush but she did it. Total miracle.

If I have learned anything from this area its that attitude and work can change anything. We understood as a companionship that the Lord has many prepared for us no matter where we are, and that it was up to our faith and effort to find them. I know I make having success sound simple, it's not. All of our baptism had miracles from the Lord that we couldn't have done on our own. Both sides are needed. Our efforts and the Lords.

So I'm headed over to FV to start over. I am excited to keep meeting new people and strengthening my testimony. I love my mission. It has been the most precious time of my life. I am sure glad I have so much time left to make an impact!

Good luck to all starting school, I promise attitude and work will help you achieve the goals you set. But don't forget to include the Lord, he is powerful to the fulfilling of his promises.
