This week was our last training from President and sister Walker before our mission is split into 2 and we get our new mission president! We After training, the Walkers met with each zone and gave us advice and answers to any questions we had. It was so fun seeing them, joke around and tell stories. You could see just how much love they have for each other and for the missionaries. We're all one big family and it was so sad shaking president Walker's hand and giving sister Walker a hug for the last time. They have taught me so much, and I'm really going to miss them. It rained literally all day Monday! It was pretty epic, but that night while we were at the VC, we got flash flood warnings and that was kinda sketch. We had to close the VC and drive home in the crazy rain! It was kind of exciting, but we were also praying everyone would make it home safely, and we all did so yay!
Thursday afternoon we worked our 2 hour shift at the Polynesian Cultural Center and I met a lot of Chinese people who were impressed that I spoke Chinese! (even though my Mandarin is so beginner) and they wanted to take a picture with me! They were so cute! We got them to take our tram tour to the VC and they wanted to take another picture with me and sister Fernsten! I guess we famous now haha One miracle I saw this week was when we were at the VC, and there were a few Mandarin speakers coming from the trams. Me and sister Fernsten went on a mini exchange so that she could speak Spanish with sister High, while I took a Chinese couple to watch welcome to Laie. We ended up having to leave right after the video so they could get back to their tram, and they didn't look very interested. As they were leaving, sister Fernsten came to the front desk with another Chinese couple, and she was showing them the Book of Mormon. I tried explaining what some of the pamphlets were, and exchanged numbers with them! It turns out, the Spanish couple wasn't interested either, but sister Fernsten saw the Chinese couple standing alone, so they talked to them about the temple model. I know that everything happened the way it happened for a reason, and I can't wait to reach out to them and see what they think about the Book of Mormon we gave to them!! I know I have a lot of work to do, so I'm still trying to be bold and open my mouth always. I never want to miss an opportunity to share the gospel with people from China, because it just occurred to me last night while I was praying that this is the only time that I can share the gospel with the people of China. This is it, and if I casually just let them go back on their tram without saying anything, I just let them miss their only opportunity to hear the gospel. That's a lot of responsibility, and it makes me so sad to think about the people I've already let slip past me. So that's my focus for now. To share the gospel. And not just with Chinese people, but with everyone! Even if it's just a brief testimony, or giving them a post card with our virtual tour link so they can learn more about temples and what we do in the Visitors' Center. Pray for all us missionaries. This truly is his work, and we're all a part of it, tag or no tag. We are all and can be disciples of Jesus Christ! I love you all! Christmas is fast approaching!
