Fútbol vs soccer

It's a daily experience here to have high school aged kids in public stare at me for a good 30 seconds, build up their courage, and then pull down their mask to say "hello" and then walk away as I try to talk to them. The majority of students here take English, and seeing me, they think it may be the only chance they get to use what they've learned. Seems to me that they only teach the word Hello here.

It was one of those weeks that we worked so hard that it feels like to us our last pday was just yesterday, but here we are a week later. I am so grateful for my (2) companions who have the drive to work hard all day every day. There is such a noticeable difference between being a go with the flow missionary and an all in missionary. The most apparent difference to me is how joyful I am when I give all I've got. It's a joy that feels more like a gift placed within me than a thing I've earned. Guess that's God's joy right? (Yeah it is.)

This week I focused on learning from President Nelson and his recent talks. I thought his last 5 or 6 would be sufficient for the week. Little did I know that his talks "Faith in him will move mountains" and "drawing the power of Christ into your life" would last me all week for every personal study. I have come to realize that the thing I need in my life, especially right now, is to build grow and develop my faith. That first talk is a wonderful guide to building faith.

The second talk has got me thinking about spiritual stretching. He shares the symbolic story of the women with a blood disease stretching as far as she could to just touch the hem of Christ's cloak. I myself have had personal experiences with spiritual stretching in my life. It's hard! It can be intense and painful and powerful. What I'm working on learning is how to make myself stretch more when there is not a sudden urgent need. For that is generally when we "grasp and gasp for the power of christ like a drowning man does for air". I know there is a definite key in the sacrament that I am trying to better understand and experience for myself.

There's a little insight into how I'm doing spiritually. Physically I'm healthy, emotionally I am super duper happy.

Oh, about the title. We have played a whole lot of soccer the last few months, and I went from total American beginner to being really good! I have just picked up soccer really well since I've moved to Piñeyro. I never thought of it as a sport that would work for me, but I have come to love it. Generally when we play on Friday, we do the Elders versus the native Argentineans. Soccer versus fútbol.

Alright, that's all for now. Love yall, enjoy your summer and I'll enjoy my winter
