Getting kicked out of the Mandarin Branch, yep. I'm goin english. Kind of bummed, but hey, got transferred for a reason, I'm needed elsewhere, this is the Lords work, it's not about what I want.
I'm still going to be hunting for Chinese people though
I had a wonderful exchange experience,
We were teaching an African American family, (super friendly and awesome) but only believe in the bible. We were teaching them about the afterlife, and about the spirit world and telling them that everyone will have a second chance to either except the Gospel or reject it.
(They only believe in Heaven and Hell)
Meaning there's no in between, if you were righteous on this earth you will be saved, if you were unrighteous, bOOm Hell! Forever.
But we don't believe that.
We were talking about spirit prison and stuff and one of the members of the family says, "we don't believe there is a spirit prison because it doesn't say anything about it in the bible."
And one of the Elders is like,
"uhh, yeah it does."
And he flips to 1 Peter 3:19
And it talks about how Jesus Christ will preach to the dead.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Anyways, I did NOT know that, so it was really inspiring for me. I thought it was only taught in D&C, I didn't know it was mentioned in the bible.
Anyways, she didn't understand and just asked a confusing question instead. It was kind of hard to help her, but one of the Elders ended up bearing a very powerful testimony of the Book of Mormon, and everyone was silent for a moment after it, it was amazing.
That's basically all for this week!
Peace
