Jan 12, 2022.
It's been a lovely week full of miracles!! It's good to be out of quarantine! We had our interviews with President Bassett and his wife last Tuesday, and boy are they the BEST!
He listened with his heart, and gave some really great advice. I know it was inspired of God for him and sister Bassett to serve in this mission, and I'm so excited to serve the rest of my mission with them.
We have a new mission song!! President Bassett had some people make a song about Laie for our new mission because he loves music, and he's excited for the new mission! Ever since I got my call to the Laie Hawaii Temple Visitors' Center, I've felt the need to make a song about Laie so when he was like "btw we have a new mission song!" I was like "yeah he's the right guy for the job."
I'm teaching this guy online named Skip! He's low key a Bible basher, but in a nice way? Lol. He has a lot of questions that are hard to answer, and he stumped me with one, so I told him I would study and pray about it, before I got back to him. I was having a sort of rough day, and I was reading my scriptures. I couldn't concentrate, so I decided to pray and ask Heavenly Father the question I was trying to find the answer to. I poured out my feelings to Him and told Him that I had the faith to receive an answer. After my prayer I felt prompted to turn back to the scripture Skip showed me earlier, but I got the verse and chapter switched. It ended up being exactly what I needed to read, and I just felt so overwhelmed with God's love in that moment. I know He hears AND answers our prayers if we have the faith to receive them!
I shared that miracle with Skip, and he's still missing the point, so don't be discouraged if things don't work out the way you thought they would. Heavenly Father knows our situation. He will provide ways for us to exercise our faith and diligence. He's not just gonna solve the whole puzzle for us because if he did, we wouldn't learn anything. There would be no growth. "all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good." D&C 122:7
Another miracle!! I was at the visitors' center for shift yesterday, and it was a slow morning. Hardly anyone came in. Our shift ended at 12, and at 11:50 I see this family walk past. They looked like they wanted to come in, but weren't sure. I smiled and waved at them, they turned around and the daughter walked in! I welcomed her in and she asked "is there any way we could go in the temple?" I told her that "because the temple is a place of worship we don't offer public tours inside, but we have a temple model where we can show you what the rooms inside the temple look like!" She was like "yeah let me get my family" Then walked back out. I thought "man I blew it!" (Because for some reason I couldn't form my sentences properly) But like 3 minutes later to my surprise, they walked in!
Me and my companion showed them the temple model, and talked about some of the things we do inside, and why it's so important to us.
Towards the end I asked how much time they had and they said they had to go, so I told them that they could take a virtual tour of our temple and he was like "Yeah, how do I do that?" So I got his contact info and sent him the link, and THIS (screenshot down below) is what he texted back!! I know Heavenly Father is looking out for me and my companion. I know that he loves us, and that we don't have to be perfect teachers to help others come closer to Jesus Christ. It's also not about us. That's something I've been hearing so much on the mission. It's truly about how we can be an instrument in God's hands and let the spirit work THROUGH us. Miracles are out there! Pray for them, get to work, then have the faith to see them!
I love you all lots n lots! have a 奇迹星期!
