SERMON ON THE BENCH

Probably one of the greatest highlights out of this whole week.

Me, Elder Renaud, and Elder Stewart went to go find people at a basketball place, and there were so many people.

(A lot of Chinese people too.)

We're watching these people ball, and it's really competitive. Elder Stewart talks to someone about our purpose and basically the Gospel of Jesus Christ, (awesome)

But at one point, I'm sitting on the bench, Elder Renaud gets up and walks straight to another bench with a bunch of dudes smokin.

And about 5 minutes later I looked over, and I'm not even kidding, he looked exactly like Jesus preaching to the multitude.

About 6 guys were surrounding him, and I couldn't hear, but I saw clearly that Elder Renaud was talking about the

Plan of Salvation!

It was an awesome sight to see.

Anyways, we had a lesson with Piller, he had a few questions before he wants to be baptized.

His questions consisted of:

If the Book of Mormon is so important, why did it take so long to be revealed?

Me and my companions did a lot of studying and praying, and there's no (specific) answer. The only answer is Mosiah 4:9

9 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things,

both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom,

and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man

doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.

We told him that in Joseph Smith's life it was a time of Religious Freedom.

Before his time, there was so much wickedness that only the Priests of other churches could only have the bible. If anyone else had it they would be put to death.

It was crazy back then in the dark ages.

But I believe it was the best time to reveal the Book of Mormon, and to restore God's original church.

His other question was:

Aren't all churches good? Don't they all talk of Christ? Will they be saved?

We told him that all churches are good, but they do not have the proper authority, and many of the Covenants and ordinances are taken out, and we also told him that all good and bad people are already saved through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Everyone will have a second chance.

We tried really hard to answer his questions, but he seemed a little confused.

It came down to the point where we invited him to ask God in sincere prayer if this Church is the one and only true church.

Piller is amazing, he has so much faith and is very humble. I pray for him almost everyday.
