Training by sisters about learning the language of the Holy Ghost

Updated: May 8, 2022

Aloha everyone another week has past!

A miracle I saw at VC was when one of senior couples came up to me and sister Birchell and told us that there was a Chinese lady up front wanting to know more about the BoM! So I went up and talked with her in Chinese she said that she hadn't read the book, but she had a friend who was a member. I showed her one of my favorite chapters (Moroni's promise). She said was interested in learning more! I had been carrying a Chinese BoM around VC with me on my VC shifts lately. I'm trying to put forth my faith that I will meet more people who want to learn more and it worked! Granted it doesn't happen every day, but the Lord definitely does put people who are ready to learn into our paths when we put in our efforts!

I don't have much time, so here's a couple highlights:

I went on exchanges last week and it went great! Sister Millar is really good at pointing out the spirit. Several times throughout the day she would say things like "the spirit just promted me to go to her house!" Or "I was going to say this, but the spirit told me to say this instead." I think she's an amazing example of always being in tune with the spirit. It reminded me of the training some sisters gave a while ago about learning the language of the Holy Ghost. Sister Millar is near fluent, and that's inspiring and motivating to me to understand what the spirit is prompting me to say/do!

I've found that TC (the online teaching center) has been pretty slow as of late, but just yesterday someone came onto the queue asking to meet with missionaries. I asked him what interested him in meeting with missionaries, and he said he wanted to get baptized! So I stalked him on Facebook to see if he was legit, and saw a bunch of not good posts, so I was a little skeptical.. I asked him why he wanted to be baptized and he sent a very heartfelt messages about how he's made so many mistakes in his life and wanted to be lifted of that burden. He also believes that baptism is the only way to be saved, which is so good! He asked a lot of questions like what to expect when meeting with the missionaries, and how we are to be baptized. It was amazing to see the strong desire he had to change! I hope that desire stays in him as we teach him more and help him take the steps towards baptism!
